Responsible lending
A loan should help, not harm. Here is how we think about it, and how you can decide whether borrowing is right for you.

How we lend responsibly
Costs before you accept
Every cost is shown up front.
Ability to repay
We assess whether a payment fits.
Plain language
Every document in words you can follow.
Fair treatment
Including customers in difficulty.
Never more than you need
We do not push bigger loans.
Ask yourself five questions
Taking a few minutes now can save you money and stress later.
Do I really need this money now?
Could the purchase wait, or be smaller?
Can I afford the monthly payment?
Include it alongside rent, bills and food.
Is there a cheaper option?
A payment plan, savings or an assistance program may cover it.
What is the total cost?
Look at APR and total repayment, not just the payment.
What if my income changes?
Have a plan, and know who to call early.
A simple affordability check
List your monthly income and fixed bills. What is left is what you can safely put toward a payment. If the payment would use most of it, consider a smaller amount or a longer term, and compare the total cost.
If you are struggling to repay
Contact us as soon as you think you may miss a payment. Early conversations give more options. You can also get free, independent guidance from a non-profit credit counselor. The National Foundation for Credit Counseling (nfcc.org) is one place to start.
